Gary Vaynerchuk Drawning Sell For $1.26M

The auction included the original “ink on paper” versions of Empathetic Elephant, Gratitude Gorilla, “Diamond Hands” Hen, “You’re Gonna Die” Fly, and Tremendous Tiger. The Empathetic Elephant topped the auction, fetching $412,500. It took Vaynerchuk merely minutes to draw this piece.
These five sketches form part of a larger 286-piece collection of animal drawings by Vaynerchuk himself, which he transformed into a set of 10,255 NFTs called VeeFriends. Each animal in this collection represents a specific virtue, such as noble camels, glowing glow worms, benevolent barn owls, etc.
According to the VeeFriends website, the animals symbolize human qualities that Vaynerchuk deeply admires. His focus was on traits that he believes lead to happiness and success.
Vaynerchuk, beyond his accomplishments with an online wine business and tech investments, is widely recognized for his motivational insights.
Despite their seemingly simplistic appearance, the lowest price for a VeeFriends NFT currently stands at 14.65 ETH, approximately $50,100. The highest-valued VeeFriends NFT was sold on OpenSea for nearly $1.2 million. This NFT, depicting an “Alert Ape,” is exactly as it appears.
Each NFT comes with a brief 20-30 second video of Vaynerchuk sketching the doodle, and these NFTs also serve as admission passes to Vaynerchuk’s future conferences for the next three years.
Vaynerchuk announced VeeCon 2022 on September 10, marking the first of three annual events scheduled from May 19 to May 22 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On a recent Thursday, TikTok, the social media giant, revealed its plan to launch an NFT collection featuring Vaynerchuk on October 6. This collection, hosted on the Ethereum scaling solution Immutable X, will also showcase recording artist Lil Nas X, musician Grimes, and internet sensation Bella Poarch.
